La Gamella, is on the corner of Retiro Park just by Puerta Alcala. Retiro Park – the Retiro (retirement, withdrawal) – is one of the emblematic places that gives character to a city. Opened to the public by King Carlos III in the 17th century it had been the royal parks and gardens reserved for members of the aristocracy. Today it is a wonderful place to find rest when enjoying the capital.

Then of course La Gamella is in just five minute walking distance from the always inspiring Museo del Prado. The Prado holds one of the finest art collections in the world and is focussed on European art from the 14th to the early 19th century. Just as close is also the well known Museo Thyssen-Bornemiszais.
